Great read, it feels like the space where nothing has to be decided yet. It honors pause without turning it into pressure or productivity. It makes the in-between feel like a place of truth, not waiting.

Amen! And I would venture to say that this does not have to happen only at that seasonal pause. It could happen between ages — and stages — of life.

Your timing is spot on, I needed every word of this essay today. Great writing (as usual) but also thank you for being a light. Happy happy new year to you! 💕

The quote from Harry Burns will always and forever be my favorite!

Ditto! I had no idea, until recently, that Billy Crystal improvised that entire last scene. Brilliant.

Love this so much, Christine. I think stillness might just be the ultimate luxury, and aging the greatest privilege. So many delicious nuggets here- moving from performance to intention (in style and in all things), comfort, pleasure and clarity as touchstones- so much yes to all!

And thank you for the Midlife Private Parts shoutout- we are so lucky to have such wise and insightful contributors- so grateful to you for being a part of it...xx
